I grew up in a Christian family in central Iowa. My mother explained the gospel to me when I was a young child. As a result of that I felt burdened to receive God’s salvation from my sins. It was at that time that I repented of my sins and placed my faith in Christ for salvation. Years later, I went off to college and got a bachelor’s degree in the Bible. Shortly after college I spent six months in China teaching ESL and doing missions work. That experience was a real eye opener to the need for the gospel in other cultures. So after returning home I found a church in Ames, Iowa that had an outreach to internationals and college students at Iowa State University, and I have been blessed to serve there for many years. In my free time I enjoy studying theology, apologetics, and learning about other people’s beliefs. This often challenges me to examine my own faith, and to continually learn more from the Bible about Jesus Christ. I strongly desire that others will come to know the truth about who Jesus Christ is and what He has done for us.
In Evidence for Salvation by Grace Alone Through Faith Alone in Christ Alone, Jason Gogerty presents a compelling, Scripture-centered examination of the gospel, carefully building the case that salvation is God’s free gift, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by human effort or religious works. Drawing from dozens of biblical passages and supported by sound theological references, this book explores 30 evidence-based arguments that address common questions about justification, eternal security, baptism, repentance, faith, and the sufficiency of Christ’s finished work on the cross.

“It made me stop and really think about what I believe.”
I appreciated how directly this book approaches the question of salvation. The way it explains grace, faith, and the work of Christ made several passages of Scripture much clearer to me.
“Simple, direct, and full of Scripture.”
What I liked most is that the author keeps bringing the discussion back to the Bible. The chapters on faith and works gave me a lot to think about, especially when it comes to understanding what salvation actually means.
“I found this book very encouraging.”
The sections about doubts and having confidence in our relationship with God really stood out to me. It was reassuring to go through the Scriptures and see how the author explains salvation as a gift rather than something we can earn.
